Te Whatu Ora’s Health Response for 2022 Special Ukraine Visa Holders

Te Whatu Ora’s health response for the Ukrainians arriving under the 2022 Special Ukraine Visa commenced on 17 October 2022. The response aims to encourage early engagement with the New Zealand health system.

For the free health assessments and consultations, Ukraine Visa Holders will be provided:

  • support to enrol with a general practice if they have not done so
  • an initial assessment, including an assessment for tuberculosis (TB) and offer testing to screen for TB
  • information about what vaccinations they may be eligible for and where to get them. 

Health professionals will have access to funded interpreting services to support the health assessment according to the spoken language of the client's choice.
