In 2025, eCALD® Services will introduce a permanent post-training support programme for learners, known as the Cross-cultural Community of Practice Support (CCPS). This initiative will be offered at no cost to the New Zealand health workforce.
eCALD Services has provided cross-cultural training for the New Zealand health workforce since 2005. Over the 20 years, we have seen close to 41,000 new users registered. Currently, we have 38,780 active learners. We receive ongoing compliments on how relevant and practical our courses are and how thought-provoking they can be to some learners. There was only one “complaint” over the years and the learners did not know where to seek help when encountering cross-cultural challenges in their practices. The eCALD Team has provided on-demand support to those who need advice. In 2024, we took the initiative to pilot the programme “Cross-Cultural Practice Supervision” with weekly educator-facilitated sessions to support practitioners in this aspect.
In 2025, we have renamed the support service as Cross-cultural Community of Practice Support, hoping more healthcare professionals can take advantage of the platform to learn more about cross-cultural practices collectively.
The Cross-Cultural Community of Practice Support is not clinical supervision but focuses on the challenges practitioners face regarding cultural issues. The participants are mainly practitioners, and we limit the number of learners in each group to a maximum of 10.

We look forward to participants gaining support and fruitful outcomes.
