About this resource

This PDF resource provides information relating to death and dying practices of different Asian cultures (Cambodians, Chinese, Indians, Japanese, Vietnamese) and religions (Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism, Islam).

This resource provides brief knowledge of the practices. However, when dealing with culturally diverse communities, we must not make assumptions about the religious and cultural beliefs and needs of families dealing with death and dying situations.

The primary source of information regarding the care of the individual or the person’s body is family members and close friends. It is essential that in every case, they are consulted about their spiritual/religious/cultural needs or arrangements in advance.
